One of the things that made our visit so memorable was the setting: one table for the service. Ours.
Having that space to ourselves made the whole afternoon feel wonderfully personal. We could settle in, enjoy each dish and spend time together with views over La Herradura Bay.
Finca El Marchante offers private dining experiences for couples and small groups, organised in advance. It’s the sort of place to make time for during your holiday, especially if sharing a good meal is part of what you love about travelling.
Local ingredients and food worth slowing down for
The food was a highlight of our visit.
Finca El Marchante’s approach centres on locally sourced produce, including ingredients from the finca’s own vegetable garden. That connection to the surrounding area gives the experience a real sense of place.
Our advice? Arrive curious and give yourself time to enjoy it.

Our favourite part: the sobremesa
There’s a Spanish word you’ll want to get familiar with during your stay: sobremesa.
It means the time spent at the table after a meal, chatting and enjoying everyone’s company. The food may be finished, but nobody feels quite ready to leave.
For us, this was one of the best parts of visiting Finca El Marchante.
The dishes were delicious and the views were beautiful, but what stayed with us was how relaxed we felt. Being able to enjoy the afternoon together, without watching the clock, made it a particularly lovely holiday recommendation to bring back to our guests.
