La cascada de Maro se encuentra en el Paraje Natural de los Acantilados de Maro - Cerro Gordo

If you are on holiday in Nerja and you want to do a kayak route through incredible places, we recommend a kayak tour from the beach of Maro, a small wild beach on the Costa del Sol, to the Cueva del Lobo. Almost three hours of refreshing and fun activity.

Maro Waterfall

Maro waterfall is in the Paraje Natural de Los Acantilados de Maro – Cerro Gordo, where the mountains of the Sierra de Tejada and Almijara have created cliffs almost 100 metres high. The Sanguino stream has formed a waterfall that comes from the Nerja Caves.

If you are travelling from Nerja, take the N-340 road towards Maro. Once you have crossed the village and rejoined the N-340, you must turn towards Maro Beach.

Unlike other beaches in Nerja, Maro is 500 metres long and 20 metres wide, full of charm thanks to the tranquillity and nature surrounding it. It is possible to get a close-up view of the 15-metre-high waterfall from the beach of Maro with a kayak, canoe or paddle surfboard.

We recommend you visit the waterfall by kayak in August as, in spring, the intensity of the water is more substantial, and it is almost impossible to cross under it. It is not summer, but you want to know what other activities are in Nerja? We recommend this other article, what to do in Nerja in Winter.

You can do the kayak tour on your own by renting only the material, or, if you prefer, you can hire a guided tour with an instructor on the beach of Maro.
