Now, we will talk about the two most famous beaches in our city: El Playazo and Burriana Beach.
Burriana Beach
Burriana Beach is, undoubtedly, one of the most famous beaches in our city. It is an extensive white sand beach stretching over 800 meters long and 40 meters wide and is situated very close to the Maro waterfalls. In fact, it is the location where canoe excursions and different boats leave to visit the waterfalls.
It should be noted that this beach has the Tourist Quality rating of Q, due to its excellent amenities, water quality and cleanliness.
Burriana Beach is ideal for families since it has all the amenities you could ask for if you have children: restaurants, bars, shops of all kinds and different attractions: even the youngest members of the family can spend an unforgettable afternoon at the Aquatic attractions at the beach.
The biggest issue at Burriana Beach is its large crowds and the difficulty in finding a place to park, as well as its distance from the city. Going by car to the beach can be inconvenient in the high season months (during June, July, August and September).
Though there is a public car park just a few meters from the beach, it is usually full. We recommend you take public transport or, if necessary, be more patient when driving in the summer months.
Another excellent option for tourists in Nerja is to rent a holiday apartment close to Burriana Beach, since there is a wide range of apartments with different characteristics. If you want a holiday just a few steps away from the beach, that it is both comfortable and safe for families, renting an apartment near Burriana Beach is the best solution.
El Playazo
This is another of the legendary and famous beaches in our city. El Playazo, is the longest beach of all the beaches in Nerja: it is 2 kilometres long.
This beach also gets very crowded with families, because it is expansive it is an ideal place to set up everything you need for a long day at the beach: umbrellas, marquees etc.
On the other hand, it is also a beach that is well-renowned among the inhabitants of the city. All boats embark and disembark at this beach since Nerja does not have a port.
It is also important to note that the beach is equipped with many amenities, all kinds of services can be found here: restaurants, beach bars, public services … everything you need for a spectacular beach day!
The Playazo also has municipal parking, so you can park there easily. It is very accessible and for that reason, it is frequented by many families.
Just like Burriana Beach, there are also plenty of tourist rental apartments near El Playazo. This is an excellent idea if you want to relax on your vacation and make the most of the hours of sunlight and beach.
