Nerja offers endless possibilities for your holidays. It is one of the most requested destinations in La Costa del Sol as it has plenty to offer both with its restaurants and leisure.
But, without a doubt, what most attracts tourists of Nerja are its beaches. There are 17 beaches in Nerja, and they all have a special feature. In fact, the vast majority have the Blue Flag of excellence, offering its users all kinds of services and clean beaches.
Next we will list 3 beaches that you cannot miss during your trip to Nerja.
3 beaches that you cannot miss in Nerja
1. Playa de Burriana. (Burriana Beach)
Burriana Beach is one of the most visited beaches. Burriana has a length of 800 meters and a very considerable width: nothing less than 40 meters of fine white sand.
In addition, the beach has all the necessary services, especially for families: restaurants, shops, beach bars… Burriana is undoubtedly one of the most complete beaches in the province of Malaga.
Inside the beach there are other services such as showers, children’s play area, volleyball courts and watersports to spend a fun afternoon with the family: kayaks, jet skis, etc.
Another distinct feature of this beach is that you can find a diving center, ideal to admire Burriana’s seabed.
On the downside we can say that access to the beach is not easy. To find parking near the beach is quite complicated (although it is true that there is a public parking nearby) and is a little far from the center of Nerja. That’s why we recommend that if you travel with children, rent apartment near the beach in Nerja as on this beach there are plenty of holiday rentals.
2. Playa de la Caletilla (Caletilla Beach)
Another one of the beaches in Nerja that you cannot miss is the Playa de la Caletilla. This beach is located in the center of Nerja and to the right of the much visited Balcón de Europa. La Caletilla Beach is a cove that is surrounded by rocks and cliffs. It grows all kinds of wild plants and is ideal if you are looking for a beach with a virgin appearance.
Its reduced in size, although it has all the services offered by the Balcón de Europa Hotel.
The most characteristic feature of this beach is the changing aspect it has depending on the tide: since it is so narrow, it may even disappear on days where the sea is rough.
On another note, it is important to highlight that it is a public beach and it is usually considered private as it is accessed only through the hotel.
This is also ideal for families since, almost always, it has calm waters and a small area where the little ones can play without losing sight of them.
3. Playa del Chorrillo (Chorrillo Beach)
The Chorrillo Beach is a totally natural cove, also surrounded by natural stones and plants.
Unlike the other two beaches mentioned, it does not have services nearby, so before going, you should plan accordingly your day at the beach. It is ideal for those who enjoy nature and seek relaxation and clear landscapes.
It is also very close to the Balcón de Europa, having to access it by crossing the beach of Calahonda and walking down the cement staircase that descends from the Balcón de Europa.
This is a beach where you can enjoy nature and the activities of natural landscapes.
